Hornwort

Botanical Name:
Ceratophyllum demersum

Hornwort is a floating stem plant with no roots (though it can be anchored on the pond floor). It has needle-like leaves that are bright to dark green. Hornwort grows by absorbing ammonia and nitrates from the water making for clearer, cleaner water. It is an excellent oxygenator.
